CINEMAGIC THEATRES Ground Breaking Ceremony
Metropolitan 15 Ultra Cineplex St. Michael, MN
ST. MICHAEL, MN January 19, 2006 CineMagic Theatres and local dignitaries completed a ceremonial Ground Breaking today for the Company's new 72,000 square foot Metropolitan 15 Screen Ultra Cineplex currently under construction to serve the growing Crow River corridor. Strategically located on 11.5 acres of prime frontage at the Interstate I-94 and Hwy. 241 St. Michael, the premier cineplex will serve the Crow River communities of St. Michael, Rogers and Albertville. Currently under construction, the project is scheduled for completion and opening early summer 2006.
"You just can't beat the location," stated Bryan Sieve, VP of Finance and Business Development for CineMagic Theatres. Access and visibility are terrific and its central location puts it literally minutes from just about any local destination in the growing Crow River corridor, just 2 miles from Rogers and 2 miles from Albertville. A lot of research went into selecting the best possible location for the cineplex to effectively serve all the communities. In addition to the cineplex, the development also provides space for future retail including restaurants and coffee shops as well as space for 5 additional screens. Designed by TK Architects of Kansas City Mo., one of the nations premiere cineplex architectural design firms, the $13 million dollar cineplex represents the future of cinema to come. "This cineplex rides the current wave of boutique themed cineplexes sweeping the industry," noted Steve Tripp, President and CEO of CineMagic Theatres. Modeled after early 19th century French architecture, this venue represents a caliber of architectural theme and design that will truly dazzle movie goers. "This project is the culmination of over 18 months of in-depth research and development, and was heavily influenced by such premier themed cineplex developments by Muvico Theatres and Rave Motion Pictures. With the opening of this theatre we hope to set a new standard for the movie-going experience in the twin cities market area," mentioned Mr. Tripp. The three story 56 foot tall Metropolitan 15 will offer the best and latest amenities available to the industry, including dramatic Las Vegas caliber themed architectural styling featuring a creative mix of early French themed elements such as Paris cafe streetscapes, the Metropolitan subway, a fully operational scaled replica of the Moulin Rouge, a dramatic water fountain and much more. Theatre amenities include dramatic wall to wall screens, high rise stadium style seating with separate areas for adults and couples, luxurious high back rocker seating, Dolby EX digital surround sound in all of the auditoriums, digital cinema projection in select auditoriums capable of exhibiting both Hollywood and independent film as well as the capability to offer direct simulcast exhibition of popular events such as WWF wrestling events, live concerts and other popular events. In addition to the wide variety of refreshments available, there will also be separate 2nd and 3rd level adult promenade areas, two party rooms, and a large game room for youngsters. The dramatic 2nd level area bar and lounge area is a first in the twin cities market and features seating for 80 in a intimate French parlor theme overlooking the lobby for those patrons 21 and over serving liquor, beer and popular food items with direct 2nd level access to select auditoriums with segmented seating areas for adults and couples. The large 3rd level private event center overlooking the lobby will function as an anteroom for private parties and corporate events including full food and beverage services if desired. On the main floor a large expansive concession area nestled in the dramatic themed lobby will focus on family fare such as traditional movie theatre favorites plus ice cream, pizza, coffee, 24 hour ticketing and much more. "This development will set the mark for those that will follow it. It will be the standard for what others will be judged by. We expect it will become one of the most dramatic and successful cineplexes in the metropolitan market," commented Mr. Tripp. Combined with its convenient central location and easy access the Metropolitan marks the beginning of a long-term commitment by CineMagic to the Crow River communities. "This cinema is being built by people who love everything about going to the movies and I am certain that our customers will greatly enjoy the exceptional movie going experience we are creating for them," commented Bruce Berry, CineMagic Theatres VP of Operations. "The theatre's high-energy environment will dazzle patrons before and after the show. In addition to weekend and holiday pre-show live entertainment, CineMagic will offer patrons extras they won't find elsewhere such as multiple music zones, leisure and social gathering areas, wi-fi high speed access and movie programs for children called CineMagic Kids, program for mothers with young children called Mommy Mondays, and weekday date night packages for couples that want to get out and away," noted Mr. Berry.
